Weekly Large Group Masterclasses for all IB Maths

The Resident Sigma Flagship

Small Group IB Maths

Mentorship Programme

All Resident Sigma classes are led by Mr Mike Herd, a current IB Maths examiner, experienced IB Mathematics teacher and former Head of Department at a leading international school. Having successfully taught and presented students over many years, he has a proven track record of helping students achieve outstanding IB Maths results.

Each session lasts 90 minutes, providing the time needed for in-depth learning, examiner-led instruction and purposeful practice using authentic IB-style questions.

Our Large Group Masterclasses focus on mastering specific topics and exam skills, while our flagship Mentorship Programme follows a structured pathway designed to help students progress towards Grades 6 and 7. To ensure every student receives personalised attention and meaningful feedback, mentorship groups are limited to a maximum of eight students.

Large Group Masterclasses

Large Group Masterclasses run weekly across all four IB Maths courses (AA and AI, SL and HL). Each 90-minute session focuses on a specific topic, combining expert teaching, examiner insight and IB-style exam practice to help students build confidence and deepen their understanding.

Priced at £40 per participant, every masterclass includes comprehensive lesson notes, access to the session recording, and a set of practice questions with fully worked solutions to support continued revision after the class.

Perfect for students looking to strengthen a particular topic, prepare for assessments, or experience Resident Sigma's teaching before joining the Mentorship Programme.

Resident Sigma IB Maths Mentorship Programme

Our flagship IB Maths Mentorship Programme is designed for ambitious students who are aiming for a Grade 6 or 7 and want more than traditional weekly tuition.

Rather than simply attending a lesson each week, students follow a structured programme that combines expert teaching, examiner insight, personalised feedback and ongoing accountability to support consistent progress throughout the IB Diploma. Working in small cohorts of no more than eight students ensures every participant receives individual attention while benefiting from a collaborative learning environment.

Each student receives:

Weekly 90-minute live mentoring sessions

Original IB-style exam questions designed to develop rigour and exam technique

Recording of class and access to a class Teams page.

Feedback and guidance on their Internal Assessment (IA)

Three individual 1-to-1 coaching sessions each term

Regular assessed homework with personalised feedback

Written progress reports for parents

Complimentary access to all Large Group Masterclasses

Discounted access to Intensive Mock Exam and Easter Revision Programmes

Unlike traditional tutoring, the Mentorship Programme provides a complete support framework throughout the year. Students benefit from structured progression, regular assessment, personalised guidance and ongoing accountability—all designed to build the understanding, confidence and exam technique required to achieve their full potential in IB Maths.

This programme is intended for students who are committed to achieving a Grade 6 or 7 and are prepared to engage consistently throughout the academic year.

Students are encouraged to attend a Large Group Masterclass before enrolling to experience Resident Sigma's teaching style and ensure the programme is the right fit.

Investment: £225 per month on a rolling monthly subscription (minimum one-month commitment).
